Love the show. When I was a kid, wanted to be a logger, but became a construction worker. Grew up in Eureka CA. Used to see 12ft dia. redwoods going down the highway on trucks. Those days are gone. EarthFirst villified loggers, even vandalized. Good to see logging getting positive press! Stay safe.

This program is a testimony to the dedication, the endurance and the problems that you have to work through every day of your working life. Many in our country are clueless to understand the importance and the risks that you take so they can have the products that come from your sweat. They sit comfortably in their homes while people like you put your lives in danger not knowing if today will be your last. I have the deepest respect for what you do and the challenges you face.
I am a small time logger doing mostly timber stand improvements and cutting firewood logs. Maybe ocassionaly I will do a small clearing job. I have a small mini skidder called a Turboforest with a small Bandit chipper and my Husky saws. I love it and it is exactly the therapy I need every weekend. I don't make much money at it but it gets me outside in the woods and I enjoy being alone with my thoughts.
Keep up the good work and keep safe. I will order a hat from your store and wear it proudly.

There was a mention of moderate weather so you can work year round.A light snow can be OK to work in, especially for guys who work outside everyday, but would you call 85 MPH winds moderate? Here in Cleveland, Ohio, 74 MPH get the gale warnings up for Lake Erie.
Did you ever catch the rope thief? I had $8000 worth oftools stolen out of my garage so I can really sympathise with you.

Gentleman,
Although I run a saw, chipper, and loader part time, as an engineer I'm stuck in cubeville getting the fluorescent tan during the better part of the week. I see too many folks that think they are actually working hard by sending emails and generating reports. Most have become disconnected from the idea of the work and labor needed to accomplish what they manage and report on. This notion seems to become more diluted every year. Your team demonstrates the fact that it takes nerve, muscle, and determination ....and apparently a lot of cigarettes too... to get the job done. This is still the engine that keeps our country going. I thank you for your efforts!

Darrell, I am sure you get advice from all walks of life. I was watching the show and your new hook and his crew were pulling out some big wood with the skycar and I could hear the tower and guylines really talking. If they took a block and two cholkers and bridled the log then put the block over the byte of the skid line in front of the car then go ahead on er and they will be amazed at how well this works and wont overload the tower and wait till you see what it does at a potential hang up just make sure you have lots o lift. All this comes from a retired logger from Reedsport. keep on logging.

Great show! I can relate to all of you as I work for a small logging company in northern Minnesota. We don't work on the side of mountains, but usually have to load on and/or drive across a swamp to get to our wood. Our wood is usually 60 miles or more from our shop and 70-80 miles from the mill. We deal with tree length and 100" logs mainly. Right now we are all laid off as the mill has quit taking wood and our roads have been placed on "spring load restrictions".
Anyway, I look forward to seeing Ax Men every week. Keep up the great work and stay safe.

Great show, You guys are by far the crew I'm rooting for. You wouldn't want a soon to be out of the military man as a greenhorn or mechanic. Keep up the hard work.
Good Job

I am a small time logger doing mostly timber stand improvements and cutting firewood logs. Maybe ocassionaly I will do a small clearing job. I have a small mini skidder called a Turboforest with a small Bandit chipper and my Husky saws. I love it and it is exactly the therapy I need every weekend. I don't make much money at it but it gets me outside in the woods and I enjoy being alone with my thoughts.
Keep up the good work and keep safe. I will order a hat from your store and wear it proudly.
Maybe a little airtime will get the industry some of the right kind of attention.
Keep up the good work and stay as safe as you can.
I'm keeping an eye out for that line that was stolen!
I started my own Machine Shop in 1979 and I had All the mills in the area as well and the loggers. Then in 1991
with a stroke of a pen the dammed enviormentalest got logging stopped in Ariz. Never really to come back. So with
out Maintance we burned 487000 acers in 02.
I love the show Ax Men as I have been their, Lost freinds
aquintance to the Job. The new stuff, Yarder,Feller-Buncher
great progress. Would have made our time easier.
Looks like a good crew with a work ethc. I have worked
hard all my life. I like work with a challange. I am going on 69 years. I can not do that kind of work anymore. I have
opened a water store. keeps me active and contributing
The best to all of you with your work ethic and what you
do, Makes you a good example of what this country was and
should be. Your jobs won,t be sent to China.
My very best to all of you and yours at Gustafson

Hopefully the housing slump ends soon. Good luck.
I had $8000 worth oftools stolen out of my garage so I can really sympathise with you.
your website, bloody awesome, some of that timber your felling is massive. Seems loggers are a similar people the world over, Im logging in Northland New Zealand for a local contractor Douglas logging, we go through the same trials and tribulations also good fun aint it keep updating those photos guys FANTASTIC catch you up.
My dad, grandpa and most of my uncles were loggers on the shores of Hood Canal (Washington) during the 1900-1940 era. My uncle Tom Wrote a book called Echoes of Puget Sound. It's about logging and steamboating in the 1905-1960 era. You'd probably like it.
Keep up the good work and all the best to you and your family.
I have often thought about trying to look you up on my travels. I am currently residing in Anchorage, AK. Drop me an e-mail, I would like to get together and exchange lies some times.

Just wanted to tell you all that I enjoy watching you all in the show.
I am really excited about a show on logging as my old man worked for Weyerhauser out of Coos Bay for 35 yrs.
Have a great year abd be safe!
Great show, Great work!!!!
Later Cuz
I am sure you get advice from all walks of life.
All this comes from a retired logger from Reedsport. keep on logging.
take care and can't wait till season 2
anyway hope, your crew and family are doing well. take care of my home sweet home.
The website only shows a small sample of your class crews, and equipment.
Good luck to all, and keep up the good work.
You guys do a great job.
This show helps to offset all the negative stuff from anti-logging, many thanks and keep up the great work.
Kevin
Good to see the industry is still alive. You seem to run a pretty good crew.
I logged out of Coos Bay for a while and my whole family was in the industry since I was born. I moved to Idaho and couldn't get the sawdust out of my blood so I bought a tree service. Gotta keep the Husky runnin.
You guys take care and keep the yarder whinin.
