I just felt compelled to say hi. Though I am an enviro. science student, I also come from a logging family. My father's a logger/land-dvlpr who is still at it at 75yrs.old; my Granddad was a logger who started logging before chainsaws were used; and my Great-Grandfather-a logger also. I suspect there were others being of Scandinavian descent. In fact, I too, have set a few chokers on small cat/skidder jobs. I wanted to learn more, but I guess my dad wanted to protect his little girl. I appreciate the hard work and the risks taken by woodsmen (& woodswomen). I love the sights and smells on the job sites. There's nothing like the smell of fresh churned forest dirt! I miss it terribly. Great to see the show; it's quite stimulating. And though I want people to have more concern about our environment and encourage sustainable logging practices, I also enjoy wood products, including those we use in the bthrm! :) Please tell Tim hi; he's a good guy. Good luck and stay safe!

Hi guys! You rock. My grandfather, father, uncles and cousins all worked out in the bush as loggers in B.C and at home here in Alberta, Canada. I was very young when they were logging and trucking so I don't really remember much. However, watching your show gives me a good idea of what they went through. I'm a carpenter/cabinetmaker(2 years ago I used over 5000BF of Alder on cabinets and doors) and I still live out in the country. I only wish some of the city slickers will watch your show so they'll really see where lumber comes from(and I don't mean the Home Depot). Watching Ax Men has given me a whole new appreciation of the work and effort needed to get the lumber to the mill. Thanks and keep up the great work. Let's hope for a second season. Good luck.

I'm currently watching an episode of Axemen on the History channel and was quite intrigued by the company name. My great grandfather August(Gust) Gustafson was a logger years ago in Oregon. His family then moved to Imperial, Saskatchewan (Canada) to take up grain farming on the prairie. I'm curious if there could be any common links in our family trees. Do you know much about the history of your family?

Reminds me when i helped my dad cut all those dead Elm trees down back in the early 1970s, and the experiences i had with a Stihl chainsaw and alloy wedges from the age of about 12.
Keep up the good work!
My son and I love watching you on Axe Men !
You are great !
You are our favourite crew ! You are all gorgeous guys. Please come to the UK anytime !!!
Did you ever find the rope that someone stole ? We watched that last night.
Love to all.
